I have not purchased a lot of steam locomotives because of a very poor experiance when I first started with DCC. I paid a professional company to install decoders in the only two steam locomotives I had and the only two the I would have for almost 8 years. He installed the early MRC decoders in them, sent them back to me (both were Kato locomotives) never ran on my layout.
